We’re looking for a Principal BI Engineer in Pune or Hyderabad who can turn data into decisions. You’ll join a growing, high-ownership team modernizing enterprise analytics on Snowflake, dbt, Tableau, Slack, and Salesforce Agent force — with direct visibility to executive leadership and the freedom to define what great analytics looks like across the company. This role is about building dashboards that executives actually use and telling data stories that change minds. We need someone who can hit the ground running — you’ve already built great Tableau analytics at scale, you know what a well-governed BI environment looks like, and you don’t need someone to tell you what to build next. You bring ideas, challenge assumptions, and make the analytics better than anyone asked for. If you’ve ever rebuilt a 47-tab Excel workbook into a single clean dashboard that made an entire team rethink their workflow — you know the kind of impact we’re talking about. In this role you will… Design and build Tableau dashboards that drive business actions, not just display numbers. Partner with business stakeholders across all functions to understand their reporting needs and translate them into clear, actionable visualizations. Own the full lifecycle of BI deliverables from requirements gathering through data exploration, dashboard development, UAT, and deployment. Write SQL to validate data, answer ad-hoc business questions, and ensure accuracy before publishing dashboards. Establish and enforce visualization standards, naming conventions, and governance practices across the Tableau environment. Investigate and resolve reporting discrepancies quickly, working with data engineering when issues trace back to upstream pipelines. Communicate insights and recommendations to business and IT leadership in a way that drives action. Mentor junior BI engineers through design reviews, best-practice sharing, and coaching. Enable business teams to explore data confidently on their own through Tableau self-service training and documentation. You have what it takes if you have… You have 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Tableau development roles. You’ve done this at scale before and can walk into a new environment, understand the data landscape, and start shipping impactful dashboards quickly. You have strong Tableau (or equivalent) expertise with excellent UI/UX sensibility. You care about how a dashboard feels, not just what it shows. You’re building dashboards, writing calculated fields, optimizing extracts, and debugging performance issues yourself every day. You understand dimensional modeling, star schemas, and how data warehouse design impacts dashboard performance. You learn new business domains quickly because you ask good questions and translate ambiguous asks into measurable analytics. You take initiative and propose better ways to present data. You make the team’s analytics better by bringing ideas, not waiting for requirements. You double-check totals, question outliers, and don’t publish until you trust the numbers. You keep up with new Tableau features, visualization best practices, and platform capabilities because you’re always looking for a better way. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred but not required). Extra dose of awesome if you have… Tableau Desktop Certified Professional certification. Knowledge of enterprise applications such as Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ), Marketo, or Gainsight. Strong knowledge of CRM data including lead management, campaigns, quotes, opportunities, and pipeline analytics. Experience with Snowflake including writing SQL transformations and understanding data-mart design. Experience with dbt for managing transformation logic upstream of your dashboards. Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics or data science workflows. Exposure to building analytics that support AI agents or semantic layers. AWS cloud experience. #LI-Onsite
