Position Overview:

The Cloud Operations and Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our cloud-based systems while providing expert-level support to internal teams. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management:
    • Assist in the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure resources.
    • Monitor and optimize resource utilization to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
    • Implement security best practices and compliance measures in the cloud environment.
  • Support and Incident Resolution:
    • Provide technical support to internal teams, addressing cloud-related issues and inquiries promptly.
    • Collaborate with team members to identify and troubleshoot complex technical problems.
    • Escalate and manage incidents according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Cost Optimization:
    • Assist in monitoring cloud spending and contribute to cost optimization initiatives.
    • Work with the Cloud Operations Manager to identify opportunities for cost savings and resource optimization.
  • Documentation and Best Practices:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cloud configurations, procedures, and best practices.
    • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cloud operations and support.
  • Automation and Scripting:
    • Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine cloud tasks.
    • Use scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate repetitive processes.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, developers, and IT operations, to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
    • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (relevant certifications a plus).
  • Proven experience in cloud operations and support, preferably with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and services.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance best practices in cloud environments.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
