About interos.ai:
interos.ai is defining the category of supply chain risk intelligence, building the world’s most trusted and transparent supply chains. Our pioneering platform automates the discovery and continuous monitoring of supply chain risk across every tier — enabling faster, data-driven threat mitigation and resilience at global scale.
As the first and only automated supplier intelligence platform, interos.ai gives organizations real-time visibility into extended supply chains to protect against regulatory exposure, unethical labor, cyber threats, and systemic vulnerabilities — all under a single pane of glass.
With customers across the commercial, government, and public sectors — including Global Fortune 500 enterprises and members of the Five Eyes nations — interos.ai offers a unique opportunity to help shape an early, fast-growing market that’s transforming global security and economic resilience.

The Opportunity:
Are you constantly exploring rigorous, data-driven approaches to understand global geopolitical, societal, technological, and economic disruptions? Are you fascinated by complex socio-technical systems and uncovering hidden patterns within large-scale human and organizational networks? Do you enjoy transforming theoretical models into practical insights that inform decisions across public and private sector environments?

If so, Interos is seeking a Principal Computational Social Scientist to help advance the next evolution of our modeling capabilities.

In this role, you will apply quantitative social-science methods to analyze global supply chains, organizational behavior, network dynamics, geospatial dispersions, and macro-level socio-economic trends. You will build and refine theory-informed and data-driven computational models while staying current on emerging research, global events, and analytical techniques. A strong researcher, writer, and data storyteller, you will translate deep analytical work into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

As part of Interos’ Applied AI team, you will work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment to introduce and operationalize complex models at scale. You will lead model-driven projects, collaborate closely with engineering and product teams, and guide models from concept through full productization. You will work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects, and excelling in communicating complex features to broad audiences. Your work will directly enhance the analytical foundations of the Interos platform and support our mission to illuminate global supply chain relationships through advanced computational social science.

What You Will Do:
  • Research, develop, and implement computational social-science models for integration into the Interos platform
  • Apply quantitative methods to understand network structures, global supply chain dynamics, and socio-technical behaviors
  • Manage multiple projects and execute rigorous models under tight timelines, while communicating progress across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Evaluate and validate academic and industry models and assess applicability to product needs
  • Translate complex theoretical frameworks into practical, scalable models used by public and private sector customers
  • Produce research papers, white papers, blogs, and external presentations
  • Stay current on global events, emerging datasets, and methodological advances relevant to computational social science
  • Collaborate across Applied AI, Engineering, and Product to take models from initial concept through to full productization
  • Embrace the start-up speed to delivery expectations and communicate and execute within multi-disciplinary scrum teams
What You Bring:
  • PhD in a social, behavioral, actuarial, computer, or related quantitative field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 7+ years; or 10+ years of hands-on experience modeling complex socio-technical or large-scale systems
  • Deep curiosity and a persistent drive to explore new data, better methods, and novel approaches to complex analytical problems
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative modeling across social, organizational, or physical systems
  • Proven open-source research skills and experience supporting product development
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience thriving in fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environments
  • Proficiency with Python, Jira, Git, and related analytical or engineering collaboration tools
  • Embodies a hungry, humble, and smart mindset: always learning, collaborating, and executing
Bonus Points For:
  • Experience operationalizing academic or technical models within private-sector or applied environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including internal teams, external partners, technical experts, and business stakeholders.
  • Background in computational social science, network science, system dynamics, global supply chain analysis, complexity science, or similar domains.
  • Experience working with engineering teams and communicating and translating models for software production.
What We Offer:
  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO) + 10 paid holidays
  • Career growth opportunities and opportunity to help shape an early, fast-growing market
  • Employee referral bonuses and recognition programs
  • A flexible, remote-first work environment that empowers you to perform at your best — wherever you are
  • An incredible culture built on trust, accountability, and collaboration across time zones and teams
Compensation:
Base Salary Range: $150,000- $200,000 USD (depending on experience and location)
Variable Compensation: Performance-based annual bonus
Equity: Stock options included as part of total compensation package
We believe in rewarding great work with competitive, transparent compensation. Final offer will be based on skills, experience, and geographic location.
