As a principal quality assurance engineer, you will lead the strategy, design, and execution of Conceal’s quality assurance practices across our platform. You will work closely with engineering leadership to ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and high-performance software. The ideal candidate is highly technical, proactive, and experienced in quality engineering for complex distributed systems in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive QA strategy across backend, frontend, network and cloud infrastructure
- Design and manage test plans and automation frameworks for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
- Work with engineering teams to define quality gates and establish test coverage goals across the SDLC
- Develop tools and scripts to automate testing of distributed, cloud-based systems
- Create and maintain test environments including multi-OS (Windows, Linux, macOS) and cloud infrastructure
- Validate system behavior across a variety of endpoint configurations and network conditions
- Review technical designs, specifications, and code for testability and reliability
- Perform independent verification and validation to ensure software meets performance, security, and compliance standards
- Track, report, and analyze software defects, contributing to root cause analysis and resolution
- Mentor other QA engineers, sharing best practices and driving a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications and Skills Required:
- 8+ years of experience in quality assurance or software engineering role
- Strong experience with QA strategy for large-scale distributed or cloud-native systems
- Experience testing endpoint-deployed products across multiple operating systems and environments
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Pytest, Cypress)
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript
- Experience working with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test integration in modern development workflows
- Experience validating network or endpoint security products and mobile applications (iOS and Android)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Proven experience mentoring or leading QA engineers or cross-functional teams
Preferred:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and cloud security testing
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
- STQB, CSTE, or other relevant QA certifications
- Contributions to open-source QA tools or frameworks
